How to Learn About Events in Another Country on Craigslist

Widen your international horizons using Craigslist. Learn about events in another country and meet new foreign friends all with the excellent free listing service and forum site called Craigslist. Read on to find out how.

    Let the Overseas Fun Begin

  1. Step 1

    Go to the Craigslist homepage.

  2. Step 2

    Select a country. There is a long list of countries on the far right side. Click one.

  3. Step 3

    Select a region. Choose one closest to the area you have in mind.

  4. Step 4

    Check out the community postings. Click on the “Community” heading or try the “Events” subheading if you want a narrower search.

  5. Step 5

    Click a heading for details. If you see a posting title that interests you, click it for more details.

  6. Step 6

    Contact a poster. If you have more questions, scroll down to find out how to contact the poster. Usually there will be a Web site, phone number or email address where you can find more info.

  7. Step 7

    Browse the discussion forums. There are tons of forums for discussion here. Find a topic that your are interested in and click the heading. Browse through the topics to find out what’s happening.

Tips & Warnings
  • If the city you're looking for isn’t listed, chances are that people are posting on Craigslist for the nearest city.
  • Check back often. Craigslist is updated frequently.
  • Read the “Avoid Scams and Fraud” section just to be safe.
  • Read things carefully. Be sure you know what you are getting into before you show up somewhere.
