MySpace is a great way to network and meet people for all types of activities. Beside socializing, MySpace also offers the opportunity to find someone with similar educational experiences as a study partner.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • MySpace account
  • Computer

    Hit the Books

  1. Step 1

Sign up for a MySpace account. Go to the homepage and enter the information required. It is important to fill out all the information that they ask for in order to find others who are compatible with your studying needs.

  2. Step 2

Click on the "Home" link at the top of the page after you have set up your account.

  3. Step 3

Scroll down the page. On the left side, you will see a box with the school information that you listed. There will be an option to visit your school's homepage or search for other MySpace users who listed the same school.

  4. Step 4

Click on your school's name. This will take you to a page that lists many of your schoolmates that also have a MySpace account.

  5. Step 5

Scroll down to the bottom of the page. On the right, you will see a box titled "Search for Students."

  6. Step 6

Narrow your search by entering information into this box. You will want to select "Current Students" and then enter the courses in which you would like a study partner. For instance, if you are taking "Math 161" and you need a study partner for that class, you would enter "Math 161" in the box labeled "Current Courses."

  7. Step 7

Click on the button labeled "Search This School." This should give a list of students that are also in the courses you listed.

  8. Step 8

Contact the students listed by clicking on their picture. This will take you to their profile page where you can choose the option to "Send a Message."

Tips & Warnings
  • If there are not many students listed in your search, you can participate in the forums and ask if anybody would be interested in helping you study. It never hurts to ask.
  • You can search the forum topics and see if anybody else is looking for a study partner.
  • Girls should be more wary of guys offering to be their study partners.
