Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Lexmark laser printer
- Internet access
- Computer
Step1
Check the model number of you printer. A good place to look is on the manual and on the printer itself. It will most likely be a combination of letters numbers, such as E323, or it might have a model name and number, like Optra Lxi Plus.
Step2
Go to Lexmark’s Web site (see link below). Next, click “Drivers and Downloads.” Now, click “Driver Finder.”
Step3
Click your printer type. Find your model number under one of the subcategories. You’ll probably find it under Color Laser, but check the Multifunction area if you can’t find it there.
Step4
Click on your model number. Make sure you match it exactly.
Step5
Select your platform. If you are not sure which version of your OS you have, open your Control Panel and double-click “System.”
Step6
Select your driver. There will be quite a few options to download. Look for a “Full Driver” package with installer. Next, click “Download Now.”
Step7
Select “Save as…” or “Save to Disk…” Choose a location to save the file that will be easy for you to find. The desktop is a good place.
Step8
Uninstall old drivers. Open Printers and Faxes from your Control Panel and right-click your printer. Click “Delete.”
Step9
Install new drivers. Double-click the executable file that you downloaded.
