Copying files from one place to another on your computer is very simple. Similarly, copying files from a flash memory card to a computer is an easy task. The process is comparable to copying files from a flash drive or a floppy disc. You will need a computer with a flash memory card reader and a slot for attaching your flash memory card. Here's how to copy files from a flash memory card to a computer.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Flash memory card and reader
  • Computer
  1. Step 1

Create a temporary home for the files currently existing on your memory card. To do this, click "My Computer" on your desktop. Double-click on any local drive to browse files and folders.

  2. Step 2

Create a new folder on your local drive and give it a suitable name, such as "Card Reader Content." Ensure that the name is easy to remember and identify.

  3. Step 3

Connect your flash memory card to your computer's card memory slot.

  4. Step 4

Use ActiveSync to complete the synchronization work.

  5. Step 5

Go to the folder containing the contents of the flash memory card.

  6. Step 6

Select all the contents in that folder. Choose "Select All" from the "Edit" menu on the top-left of your screen, or single-click each file while holding down the "Ctrl" key. Right click on the mouse and choose the "Copy" from the menu.

  7. Step 7

Browse to the "Card Reader Content" folder in the explorer window. Find the "Edit" button and click "Paste."

  8. Step 8

Wait for the computer to copy files onto its hard drive. This process may take a while if the file size is large. Once the transfer is complete, the files from the flash memory card reader will be copied to your computer.

  9. Step 9

Close the window and safely unplug your flash memory card from its slot.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that your hard drive has enough space to copy the file on to it.
  • Do not close the window while the files are being copied.
  • Do not try to copy files on a PC that is not equipped with a flash memory card.
  • Do not remove the flash memory card until the file transfer is finished. Otherwise, the transfer will be incomplete.
