Step 1
Create a user account on Craigslist by going to the account sign-up form, entering your email address, typing the five-letter verification word that is on the screen, and then selecting “Create Account.”

Wait for an email to complete the sign-up process. Follow the directions in the email to confirm your account.

Go to Craigslist and sign in. Click on the "Post to Classifieds" link on the left-hand side of the page.

Select "Job" under the heading "What Type of Posting.” Select one or more categories from the list of choices and then click "Proceed" at the bottom of the page.

Choose your location under the heading “Choose the Area Nearest You.” Next, under the heading “Which of These Locations Fits Best?,” narrow down your search by clicking on one of the possible locations.

Fill out the posting form. Give your posting a title, description and an email address where interested applicants can contact you and click "Continue" at the bottom the page. You will then see a total amount due and a summary of your ad. After reading your ad, click "Continue."

Read the conditions and then choose "Accept the Terms of Use."

Select your payment method. Choose "Log in to an Existing Account," or pay via credit card.

Decide how many positions you want to advertise. You can purchase one ad with a credit card or purchase a block of ads with a check or credit card.

Sign up for a paid posting account to establish a line of credit if you plan on posting ads often. To be approved for a paid posting account, you must agree to purchase at least $675 worth of postings, or prove that you have already bought at least $675 worth of ads.

Search resumes for potential employees. Searching for resumes is free. Just go to the Craigslist site, select your location and use the search option on the left-hand side of the page. Choose resumes from the pull-down menu and then type in a keyword to narrow down your search.
