How to Print Photos from a Digital Camera Using an Inkjet Printer

A lifetime of memories can now be at your fingertips. Printing photos in your own home is personal and convenient. Follow these steps to print photos from a digital camera using an inkjet printer.

Things You'll Need:

  • Inkjet
  • Computer
  • Digital camera
  1. Step 1

    Transfer your pictures from your camera to your computer. If your computer contains the camera driver, just plug in your camera to start copying pictures to your computer.

  2. Step 2

    Understand all of the software that is compatible with your printer.

  3. Step 3

    Inspect your printer to make sure everything is working properly. Check the ink cartridge to make sure that you have enough ink.

  4. Step 4

    Select the right paper for your pictures. There are four different types of photo paper: high-resolution inkjet, glossy, plain inkjet and photo quality (non-glossy). Using glossy paper will give you the best results.

  5. Step 5

    Adjust settings such as layout, size, quality and number of copies before printing each time.

  6. Step 6

    Print out the pictures that you want.

  7. Step 7

    Allow your pictures time to dry to ensure the best results.

Tips & Warnings
  • Most inkjet printers will allow you to print a 4x6, 5x7 or 8x10-inch pictures.
  • Use pigment ink instead of dye ink to make your photos last longer.
  • Since all cameras and printers are different, read your models' manuals before printing.
