MySpace is one of the most versatile online social networking sites, and one of the facets of this versatility is the ability to add music to your page. Adding music to your page lets people learn even more about you by showing them what kind of music you like. Here's how to add music to a MySpace page.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet connection
  • MySpace profile
  • Computer

Step1
Log-in to your MySpace account. If you don’t already have an account, click on “Sign Up” in the upper right hand corner of the MySpace homepage, and follow the instructions to open your account.
Step2
Click on the "Music" link near the top of the page. A page will be displayed with several artists and genres.
Step3
Search for the artist who you want to feature on your page. Listen to the four available songs and decide which one you like most.
Step4
Click on the "Add" button next to your selected song. On the next page, confirm that you want to add this song to your profile.
Step5
Insert the appropriate HTML code into one of your profile fields to upload a song from an outside Web site.

Tips & Warnings

  • Preview your profile. It’s easy to add music that is distracting or annoying, so use discretion.
  • If people who are sensitive to inflammatory material will be viewing your profile, avoid inflammatory lyrics.
  • If you can find the song you want on MySpace, use that method rather than posting your own HTML. It's simpler and easier to change down the road.
  • Don’t post a song that people can’t turn off. It’s annoying for people who are listening to their own music while browsing.
