How to Find Work Abroad on Craigslist

You may want to live abroad, but how do you line up a job in another country? Craigslist is a great tool that can connect you with employers overseas who are recruiting people from different countries. Follow these steps to find work abroad on Craigslist.

Instructions

1. Log on to the Craigslist Web site. On the right-hand side of the screen, select the country where you are planning to move.

2. Once you have chosen your location, click on the heading "jobs." Look through the different subheadings offered.

3. Browse through the jobs until you find one you like. Note down the email and print out the job description.

4. Reply to the email as requested. Make a list of the jobs you have applied to, noting the date and time you applied, so you can keep track of the responses.

Tips & Warnings

• Keep track of all the jobs you apply for, so you can send a follow-up note if you do not hear back in a timely fashion.

• Reply to the emails as directed in the posting. Do not send samples or resumes unless they are requested. An inability to follow directions will not make you a good candidate.

• Do not send personal information (including a resume) until you are sure the listing is legitimate. Be wary of job descriptions without much detail.
