    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Internet access
    • MySpace account
    • Computer
      • 1

Log in to your MySpace account or sign up for a new account. Create an interesting MySpace page that is eye-catching and accurately describes your business and services.

      • 2

Click on the "Classifieds" link located at the top of your home page, on the far right just underneath the banner ads. This will take you to the Classifieds page.

      • 3

Choose the category that best fits your product. You have wide range of choices, from baby toys to instruments to video games.

      • 4

Hit the "Post Ads" link to start writing your ad.

      • 5

Fill in the Subject box. This is what will display first to the readers of the classifieds. Use this space for your most important and eye-catching information.

      • 6

Write more specific information in the "Details" box. You want items of interest that are important enough to warrant being called out to the reader, but not as important as the stuff you put in the "Subject" box.

      • 7

Fill in the "Body" box with all the secondary information about your product. Make sure your contact information is here as well as any photos of what you are selling.

Consider posting to a business blog, if you have a high volume of items to sell.

    Tips & Warnings

    • You must have had your MySpace account for at least seven days before you can post a classified ad or create a blog. This anti-spammer waiting period is the perfect time for you to take pictures of your product and write up a rough draft of your classified ad.

    • You may be able to use the forums as a promotional tool for your business; however, the forum rules state that attention-seeking threads will be deleted. You've also got a lot of competition to contend with on the forums.

    • You can petition MySpace for a new classifieds category if your product doesn't fit the exiting ones.

    • Be a courteous MySpace member. Do not post telephone numbers, physical addresses, last names, porn or violent content on MySpace.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about selling items on myspace, but I wanted to sell it on the actual page not the classified section. Thanks for letting me know that it's not allowed.
