AdSense is an advertising program run by Google that enables you to place content-relevant advertisements on your blog. These ads generate revenue on a pay-per-click basis.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Use your favorite seach engine such as Google, Yahoo! or Dogpile.
Step2
Type in: Adsense-Deluxe Wordpress Plugin.
Step3
Once the search engine has finished populating its results, click on the first link provided.
Step4
Follow the instructions.

Tips & Warnings

  • You will receive a confirmation email from AdSense. Find that email and click on the link it gives you to confirm your email address. Be sure to read the rest of the confirmation email as well, since it will contain other information on finishing the registration and approval process.
  • You can see how well your ads are doing by checking the "Reports" tab on the AdSense Web site to look at your ad performance.
  • To change your payment information or other account details after you've signed up, go to the main AdSense site and log in to your account there.
  • Until your email address is confirmed and your AdSense application is approved, your ads will only show Public Service Announcements (PSAs) rather than targeted ads. You don't get paid for PSAs.
  • There may be a bit of a delay before the AdSense bot gets to your site and you start getting targeted ads.
  • This feature does not currently provide a way of moving the ads, though the default location used is one that tends to provide the best results.
  • Reports appear an hour or so after a change has been made (and may sometimes be delayed up to 24 hours).
