How to Add a Yahoo! Podcast Badge to a Web Site

If you’re up to date on the latest technology, you’ve heard of podcasting. Podcasts are like radio on demand, with recorded messages, songs and stories on millions of topics. Not only can you listen to podcasts, but you also can make podcasts of your own. A popular method to advertise your podcasts is to place them on your Web site. Another way is to use a Yahoo! Podcast Badge as a link to your podcast. Here's how to create a podcast for your site and add a podcast badge.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Decide what you would like your podcast to be about.

  2. Step 2

    Make sure your have the proper equipment. You'll need a computer with Internet connection, a microphone, sound-recording software and an MP3 encoder.

  3. Step 3

    Record your podcast. Choose a quiet area without interference. Press "Record" to start, and press "Stop" to finish.

  4. Step 4

    Upload your podcast to your Web site. (If you don’t have a site, you will need to obtain a Web hosting service and create one.)

  5. Step 5

    Share your Podcast using RSS feed.

  6. Step 6

    List your RSS feed on podcast directories so that others can find you.

  7. Step 7

    Add a podcast badge by copying and pasting the HTML coding provided by Yahoo!. You will find this on the Yahoo! Podcast page (see link below).

  8. Step 8

    Upload the HTML coding to your Web site and view your Yahoo! Podcast Badge.

  • You can copy and paste the coding of the podcast badge to upload to any Web site.
  • Add your podcast link to podcast directories for better exposure.
  • Place your podcast code in a separate folder for easy access.
  • Save all your log-in information.
  • Save your work. If the Web page closes before you save, you will have to start over again.
  • Check your podcast badge link to make sure it is working.
  • Having podcasts can leave you vulnerable to spyware.
