How to Add a Podcast RSS Feed to FeedBurner

RSS feed, or "Really Simple Syndication," is used to send updates dealing with your podcast straight to aggregators such as iPodderX or iTunes, in order to make your new content available for download. Using the FeedBurner service allows you to make your podcast "subscribable," as well as to track circulation, build awareness and apply revenue-generating programs to your feed. Here are some steps to help you get started.

  1. Step 1

    Sign up with FeedBurner (see link below). Signing up is free; simply follow the instructions to create an account.

  2. Step 2

    Enter your feed link-the address you will give to readers to add your feed to their feed-into the text box.

  3. Step 3

    Click "OK."

  4. Step 4

    Select the service options that are appropriate for you to use.

  5. Step 5

    Complete the process by following the instructions.

  • RSS feed can be created automatically with a software like WordPress or Blogger (see links below).
  • Use FeedBurner's FeedFlare service to build interactivity into your content. This lets your subscribers tag, email or share the content with others.
  • Make sure your RSS can be found.
