How to Connect a Palm OS Device to a PC

Connecting your Palm OS device to a PC can make your PDA even better. By connecting your Palm OS device to your PC, you're syncing your computer with your handheld device. In a couple steps, you can take your Outlook information with you in your Palm OS device. With a USB cable, you're ready to plug your Palm OS into your PC’s port. Follow these steps to find out how.

  1. Step 1

    Be sure you have the proper connection devices and software. Does your computer have a USB (Universal Serial Bus) port installed? Also check your computer’s system requirements. Do you have an old version of Windows? Will the version you have allow you to download your Palm OS software?

  2. Step 2

    Be sure your computer has a CD drive. Install the proper software before connecting your PDA to your computer.

  3. Step 3

    Connect your PDA to your computer using the USB cord. Your computer will recognize that your PDA is connected.

Tips & Warnings
  • Your Palm OS will require you to run Windows 2000 or Windows XP Service Pack 2. You will also need a USB port.
  • Check your computer to see if you have a USB port installed. If not, consider having one or more installed.
