How to Automatically Clean a Canon Inkjet Cartridge
Do you have streaks down the middle of the pages you're Canon inkjet is printing? Maybe the ink is dark in some spots and illegible in others. You probably have a clogged ink cartridge. Follow these steps to automatically clean a Canon inkjet cartridge.

Turn on your Canon printer. The switch is generally located on the top right-hand side of the printer. Make sure your computer is turned on.

Go to the "Start" menu. This is the green button located in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.

Select "Control Panel" from the options listed. This will take you to another menu.

Choose "Printers" from the selections available. Double click the icon for your printer.

Select "Properties." Another menu will appear. Click on the "Maintenance" option.

Wait for the process to finish. You may want to test the ink levels to ensure everything is working properly.

Take your time to avoid frustration. If you skip a step, the process will not complete itself.
Use new Canon ink cartridges to ensure quality.
Avoid clogging your cartridges by using your printer at least once a week.
Repeat the process if necessary. After the process is complete, the cartridge may still be clogged. One more repetition may solve the problem.
