How to Create a Trip Plan on Yahoo Travel

Planning a trip can be a very exciting time, especially if you don't have the opportunity to travel on a regular basis. If you want some help, use the "Trip Plan" feature on Yahoo Travel. Follow these steps to make trip preparations easy.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Log onto www.travel.yahoo.com.

  2. Step 2

    On the home page, go almost to the bottom to find the "My Travel" section.

  3. Step 3

    Click on the "Trip Planner" link.

  4. Step 4

    Click "Create a Trip" at the top of the next page.

  5. Step 5

    Enter and add the name of your destination.

  6. Step 6

    Give your trip a name and enter your travel dates. Indicate if other people can see your trip as well as the name you prefer to be called by.

  7. Step 7

    Click "Start Planning!"

  8. Step 8

    You can now browse through the hotel, things to do, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options offered through Yahoo Travel.

  9. Step 9

    When you're ready to add an item, click "Create Item" and it will be stored for you.

  10. Step 10

    When you're ready to make reservations for a portion of your trip, click on the link and follow the link's directions.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may want to let other people see your trip if you're planning a group vacation. You may also want to let important people at home know where you'll be in case there's an emergency.
  • There's a section where you can record your thoughts about the trip. This option is a good way to keep an online diary about your upcoming vacation.
  • If you're traveling internationally, remember your passport.
  • Purchasing trip insurance is a good idea if you are traveling with small children or anyone elderly.
  • Check all reservations before leaving home.
  • Print a copy of all reservations to carry with you.
