Schedule some sightseeing time. Innsbruck has been a main artery of commerce in the region since the 12th century, which means the city offers a wealth of historical attractions.

Expect cold winters and hot summers in Innsbruck. While many flock to the city to ski in winter, the summers offer great swimming and hiking weather.

Consider greeting the New Year with 70,000 other celebrants. Since 1996, Innsbruck has hosted one of the largest New Year's Eve parties and music festivals in Europe. At midnight, fireworks explode over the snow-covered Alps.
