1. Set up an account with Craigslist. Visit the Web site and find your target region. Click on your target region. Next, click on “My Account” at the top-left-hand side of the screen. From there you will you will see the “Don’t Have an Account?” option. Follow that link and you will be prompted to enter your email address. Your account is now set up.
2. Go to your email box and find the email sent to you from Craigslist. You will need to activate your account before you can post anything. Create your password when prompted to do so.
3. Click the “Submit a Classified” button on the top-right-hand side of the homepage. Now, decide where you want to place your ad. Determine where the ad will attract the audience you’re trying to reach. Your options are: job, gigs, housing, for sale/wanted, resume, services offered, personal/romance, community and event. You will then have to put your ad in one additional category, depending on what your first choice was.
4. Write your ad and give it a title. Don’t forget to imbed the link to your page in the body of the advertisement. You cannot generate clicks to your page if there is no link in the ad.
5. Complete the word verification process. Craigslist uses the process to weed out spammers.
6. Your ad is now posted. Sit back and wait for the clicks to your page.

• Make sure the link to your page works. Check it before you submit the ad.
• After you post your advertisement, Craigslist will send you another email that will have a link to it. Follow the link to make sure everything is correct and to see what it looks like from someone else’s point of view.
• Do not put your ad in all caps or use too many symbols.
