How to Insert a Battery in a Palm Z22

Changing the battery on a Palm Z22 can be difficult. It is important to follow the steps below carefully to successfully change a Z22 battery. Just remember to take your time and handle the PDA delicately and read the warnings below before you begin.

Things You'll Need:

  • Wrench
  • Palm z22
  1. Step 1

    Take the cover off on the back of your PDA by pulling it down. By taking off this cover you will reveal some screws on the rear of the device.

  2. Step 2

    Use the Allen or Torx wrench that was included with the device upon purchase to loosen the screws.

  3. Step 3

    Look to make sure that there are no tabs connected to the circuit board of the Z22. You will need to go to a technician to disconnect the tabs if they are present. If so, do not proceed to the next step.

  4. Step 4

    Move the cover off of the Palm PDA to reveal the battery. You will see the battery in a battery case; flip the battery towards the top of the case to get a better look at it.

  5. Step 5

    Look for the cord connecting the battery to your PDA. Pull up from the base plug of the power cord and disconnect the battery.

  6. Step 6

    Remove the old battery from the battery case and place the new battery in the case. Place the new battery cord back into the position you removed it from. Place the battery in the same position as the old battery was before you moved it.

  7. Step 7

    Put the rear cover back on the Z22 and allow it to charge for at least 4 hours before use.

Tips & Warnings
  • Consult a technician if you have any questions.
  • Be very delicate; do not use force to remove parts.
  • If your battery has a blue casing on it, do not attempt to change the battery.
  • Make sure nothing is attached to the circuit board of the PDA when removing casing.
