It is fairly simple to find and buy a new toner cartridge for your color laser printer. Here are a few steps on how to buy a new toner cartridge for a laser printer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Printer cartridge
  • Computer
  • Printer
  1. Step 1

Look at your printer or the manual that came with it. Write down the kind of printer you have and purchase a cartridge that is compatible.

  2. Step 2

Decide if you want to buy your toner online or in a store. Online shopping normally offers a lower price, but it may be more convenient to purchase it at a local office supply store.

  3. Step 3

When ordering online, remember to give yourself time to receive the product. When buying in a store, make good use of the customer service clerks. They will be able to track down your cartridge for you if you have your information on hand.

  4. Step 4

After you buy your toner, take it home and see if it matches the toner cartridge you have in your printer already. Install the cartridge and begin printing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Sometimes you can get a deal if you buy more than one cartridge at a time.
  • Keep your store receipt. If your cartridge is defective or it is not the right one, you will have an easier time returning it.
  • Most printers have a function that reminds you when your ink level is getting low. Use that to your advantage by ordering a new cartridge before the old one fails.
  • Once you buy the toner, keep the information off the box for easier reordering.
  • Don’t wait to the last minute to buy ink.
