How to Create a Life Tips Party Game

Introduction

Visualize your guests arriving at the party. Your chief responsibility is to encourage guests to sparkle, mingle and shoot the chitchat. Break the ice with a handy tool to launch some creative interaction: the “Life Tips” party game. Interactive party activities speak for themselves. They give guests a chance to mingle and interact, which is exactly what want as a host. This activity asks guests to write down a life tip, with the goal being for everyone to learn from friends’ experiences.

Step1

Start with a decorative tray at least 2 inches deep. Fill the entire base of the tray with water-soaked Oasis (green florist’s foam).

Step2

Order enough flowers to cover the bottom of the tray. Carnations are a good idea. They get a bad rap for being a poor man's rose, but they look amazing altogether.

Step3

Cut the flower stems about 2 inches from the head. Stick the stems directly into the floral Oasis until the entire area is covered with carnations and the Oasis foam is completely hidden by flowers.

Step4

In honor of 2007 being the Year of the Pig, put a piggy bank on top of the bed of flowers.

Step5

To start the game, invite guests to write a life lesson or tip on a foldable note card and slip it into the piggy bank. Read them aloud at dinner and try to guess which guest wrote which tip.

Step6

To make the activity completely self-service for your guests, print and frame the instructions. The title of the game should read something like: "A Penny for Your Thoughts."
