How to Get Onyxia Keyed in World of Warcraft: Halaa and Upper Blackrock Spire

We continue our series on getting your character attuned to Onyxia's lair with a visit to the enigmatic Haleh, in Winterspring. For this portion of the quest, we STRONGLY recommend the acquisition of a map mod that provides you with coordinates. We realize this is difficult considering the new patch, but there are already mods available with coordinate systems.

Instructions

1. Travel to Everlook.

2. 

   Head southwest from Everlook to coordinates 56, 54 and look for the large tree.

3. 

   Head around the tree to the left and look for a V-shape in the hills around 54, 53. When you see a large root covering the path, you've found the spot. Next comes the tricky part.

4. 

   Head up the wall on your left and ride up alongside the root. You need your mount for this, but contrary to other theories, you do NOT need an Epic mount, the Carrot on a Stick or Mithril Spurs to make the jump.

5. 

   Get a running start, then jump just before the edge of the cliff. There is a small, nearly invisible ledge on the wall that will allow you to jump over the small chasm and onto the outer cliff. Keep trying until you get it--this CAN be done!

6. 

   Jump from the small ledge to the outer cliff face and look to your left. You will see an elf and a blue rune on the ground. DO NOT, under ANY circumstances, walk over that rune! It will transport you to the middle of a cave full of very angry mobs! Repeat: DO NOT WALK OVER THE BLUE RUNE!

7. 

   Walk around the rune and talk to Haleh. She will give you a quest for the Drakefire Amulet.

8. Leave Winterspring and find yourself a 10-man raid for Upper Blackrock Spire. There are a variety of ways to get there, the easiest being to enter Blackrock Mountain from the Searing Gorge.

9. Fight your way through Upper Blackrock Spire until you reach General Drakkisath at the end. He is tough but not invincible. Have someone kite him around in the previous room while the rest of the party kills his friends. When they are dead, everyone pile onto Drakk and bring him down! Once he's done, you will receive the Blood of the Black Dragon Champion. Don't forget to touch the blue crystal on the wall behind where he was standing.

10. Head back to Winterspring and find Haleh again. Give her the blood and she will give you the Drakefire Amulet. You MUST have this with you before you try to enter Onyxia's lair.

Tips & Warnings

• When you encounter Haleh the second time, make sure you discuss the Drakefire Amulet quest BEFORE you mention any other quests. Some of her quests involve you being teleported to other areas of the world that are distant from where you want to be. Save yourself the travel time.
