Step1
Open the box, and remove its contents. he printer itself is almost always fully assembled, with the possible exception of having to add a cover or paper tray, which easily clips onto the body.
Step2
Open the body of the printer and locate the holder for the toner cartridge. Most printers come with a cartridge and you should install it in the holder at this time.
Step3
Attach the cables to the printer, be they USB, parallel cables or serial cables.
Step4
Locate the power cable, attach it to the printer and plug it into a wall socket or power cord.

Install any drivers or hardware that the printer comes with. Drivers are programs that allow communication between your printer and your computer, and can either be downloaded from the manufacturer’s Web site or installed from a CD.
Step6
Plug in your printer cables to your computer and turn the printer on. Now, load the paper tray with some paper in order to print a test page.
