How to Install a Bluetooth Keyboard to a Laptop

If you have a Bluetooth-enabled laptop, you can always use an external Bluetooth keyboard with it. It is comfortable for long use and can be easily carried around. Here’s how you can install a Bluetooth keyboard to a laptop.

Things You'll Need:

  • Batteries
  • Bluetooth-enabled laptop
  • Bluetooth keyboard
  1. Step 1

    Check if your laptop is Bluetooth-enabled. You can either do it yourself or consult your dealer for that information.

  2. Step 2

    Make sure that your keyboard supports Bluetooth 2.0 or a higher technology.

  3. Step 3

    Install the Bluetooth software and drivers if your laptop doesn’t have them pre-installed already.

  4. Step 4

    Insert batteries into your Bluetooth keyboard.

  5. Step 5

    Activate the Bluetooth keyboard by turning on the wireless button.

  6. Step 6

    Finish the installation using the hardware installation wizard. In most operating systems such a device will be automatically installed as soon as you connect it to the computer.

  7. Step 7

    Turn on the button given at the bottom of your Bluetooth keyboard. This will enable it to be detected by the laptop.

  8. Step 8

    Right click on the Keyboard icon on your screen and then select the ‘Pair Device’ option. Follow any other instructions. Your Bluetooth keyboard is installed and ready to use.
