Know Your Destination

Step1
Cross over a famous landmark. When the bridge crossing the Thames River in London was said to be "falling down," Lake Havasu's founder, Robert McCulloch, purchased the granite bridge for $2,460,000 and arranged to have it shipped over in sections. It took three years, another $7,000,000 and the digging of an eight foot, man-made canal before the bridge was dedicated in Lake Havasu City in 1971. The famous bridge now spans the Colorado River in Lake Havasu to Thompson Bay.
Step2
Bring your binoculars. There are more than 340 species of birds that make their home in Arizona along the banks of the Colorado River.
