-
Step 1
Fly to Lincoln's Municipal Airport from connecting cities like Chicago or Denver. There are no direct international flights.
-
Step 2
Take the I-80 Interstate highway if you're visiting Nebraska and have access to a car. It's the primary route through the state and the most accessible highway from other points in the United States.
-
Step 3
Take the bus to Lincoln from nearly anywhere in the United States. The Greyhound bus line makes frequent stops in the city because of the high student population.
-
Step 1
To book accommodations, contact Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau at (402) 434-5335 or visit their Web site (see Resources below).
-
Step 2
Visit your children in college at graduation or on other special occasions. Rooms are slightly costlier during peak travel times, but they rarely top $200 unless you choose an exclusive hotel.
-
Step 3
Want to rejuvenate for a few days? Few places offer as much comfort as you'll find in a cozy bed and breakfast, and Lincoln's B&B's are celebrated for their hospitality and service.
-
Step 4
You can take advantage of Lincoln's status as a college town and book accommodations in a youth hostel. There are quite a few youth hostels in the city and each offers affordable rates.
-
Step 1
Be sure to visit the Capitol Building in Lincoln, which is open to the public year round. Its Art Deco architecture is a far cry from most other structures in the region.
-
Step 2
Come to Lincoln during the Jazz in June festival. This summer long event is held near the Sheldon Art Gallery. You will find several wonderful accommodations close by.
-
Step 3
Let your hair down on Lazlo's Beer Tour, a guided trek through the Haymarket District.
