Jefferson City, the capitol of Missouri, may not enjoy the renown of Kansas City or St. Louis, but the city features wonderful sights of its own and deserves any traveler's attention.

    Get Around Jefferson City

  1. Step 1

    Drive to Jefferson City using Highway 50, Highway 179 or Highway 54. None of these are interstate highways, so you'll need to map your course depending on which direction you're coming from.

  2. Step 2

    Take Amtrak from St. Louis if you don't plan on renting a car for the journey. It's the fastest, most reliable mode of transportation available.

  3. Step 3

    Take the bus from neighboring cities. The bus is one of the most affordable methods of transportation. Greyhound stops in Jefferson City as does USA Express.
