How to Prepare an Article for Submission to an Article Directory

Online article directories are a handy and free way to get your work out there on the Web. Before you submit an article, follow these steps to correctly prepare it for submission. Correctly preparing an article is critical to acceptance of that particular article as well as requests for future articles. It doesn't take long to get an article ready for the Web, but the long-term benefits will be great.

Instructions

1. Spell-check and proofread the article; correct any errors.

2. Open the article in a text editor such as Microsoft's WordPad or Notepad.

3. Remove any special formatting from the article such as bold, italics and underlines.

4. Choose the portion of your article you would like to use for a summary. If you do not have an appropriate section in your article for the summary, create one of 300 characters or less.

• Identify the Web sites where you will submit the articles and check whether they have any additional specifications for article preparation.

• Remove all hyperlinks from inside the articles if required by the submission site.

• Always proofread your articles before submitting them.

• Do not use any special characters in your articles.
