  4. Step 1

Go to Monster.com (see link below) . Log in using your username and password.

  5. Step 2

Click on the "Post Resume" tab and then select the "Upload Word (.doc)" link. This will take you to the "Upload a Resume" page.

  6. Step 3

Know the difference between uploading and posting a resume on a Web site. In uploading a resume, you can upload an existing resume (in Word or text format), while posting can refer to copying and pasting from an existing resume in addition to uploading a Word or text resume.

  7. Step 4

Enter a resume title. An interesting title may catch the interest of recruiters.

  8. Step 5

Choose your resume status. It can be "Public" or "Private." Public status will enable prospective employers to find your resume in their searches. However, if you want to conceal your present employment and contact, select "Private." In this case, interested employers will contact you through a confidential Monster.com e-mail address.

  9. Step 6

Fill in details such as your job title and employer’s name from your most recent job in the section called "Work Experience."

  10. Step 7

Enter your preferred job, title and industry along with expected salary in the section titled "Target Job."

  11. Step 8

Indicate your preferred job location in the "Target Job Locations." Also mention how much time you are willing to travel as part of your job.

  12. Step 9

Press the "Browse" button in the "Upload a Resume" section to select the resume file. The resume has to be in MSWord 97 (or a newer version) and under 500K in size. Remember to turn off the "Track Changes" feature and to close the Word document before uploading the file. Append ".doc" to the file name if you are working on a Mac machine.

  13. Step 10

Click on "Save Resume" to complete the process.
