Applying for jobs in this Internet era is easier and faster than ever. There are several job portals where you can post your resume. One of the most popular portals is Monster.com, which offers various tools for posting your resume. Here’s how to register for a free account and post your resume on Monster.

Instructions

    Creating an Account on Monster.com

  1. Step 1

Go to Monster.com (see link below) and click on “New User–Register Now.” This will take you to the registration page.

  2. Step 2

Choose a username and password. Enter your personal details, professional details and educational qualification. Click "Continue." You are now registered with Monster.

  3. Posting a Resume on Monster

  4. Step 1

Go to Monster.com (see link below). Log in with your username and password. There are two ways of posting your resume on Monster—uploading an existing resume (in Word or text format) or copying all content from your existing resume and pasting it in the text box provided. Both options are described below.

  5. Step 2

Click on "Submit Resume" or "Create a New Resume." This will take you to the Submission page. Enter your personal details, professional information and educational qualifications. Note that many of these are already filled in for you. You may, however, update any of the fields. Click "Continue."

  6. Step 3

Insert the details of your work experience such as "Role," "Current Industry," "Current Employer," and "Previous Employers." Key in a title for your resume in the respective text box.

  7. Step 4

Go to the "Detailed Resume" section. Either upload an existing resume (in Word or text format) or copy content from your existing resume into the textbox provided. To preserve the formatting of your resume, upload it rather than copying and pasting the content.

  8. Step 5

Click on the "Continue" button to go to the next page. Enter your current salary and education qualifications. Fill in the optional information if desired. Click on the "Submit" button. This will successfully post your resume on Monster.com.

Tips & Warnings
  • Provide as much information as you can. This will enhance your chances of being short-listed by prospective employers.
  • Uploading your existing resume (in Word or text format) is recommended over copying and pasting text, to preserve your formatting.
