How to Post Your Resume on CareerBuilder

Looking for a job online? CareerBuilder is one of the largest job portals with a huge number of resumes in its database. Posting your resume on CareerBuilder is simple with CareerBuilder's user-friendly format. Here's how to create an account and post your resume.

Instructions

    Creating an Account on CareerBuilder

  1. Step 1

    Go to CareerBuilder.com (see link below) and click on “New User–Register Now”. This will take you to the registration page.

  2. Step 2

    Choose a username and password and enter your basic personal information. Click on "Continue." You are now registered with CareerBuilder.

  3. Posting Your Resume on CareerBuilder

  4. Step 1

    Go to CareerBuilder.com (see link below) and click "Get Started Now."

  5. Step 2

    Under the "Upload your Resume" option, click "Upload Now" to go to the Post Resume page.

  6. Step 3

    Enter a resume title in the "Resume Title" box.

  7. Step 4

    Click "Choose File" to browse to upload your resume, or paste the text of your resume in the blank box provided below.

  8. Step 5

    Press the "Continue" button. This will take you to the Experience page, unless you are not a member of CareerBuilder, in which case it will take you to the Personal Info page. On the Personal Info page, fill in the requested information to create a CareerBuilder account and become a member. Press the "Continue" button again to go back to the Experience page.

  9. Step 6

    Enter your education details and click "Continue" to go to the Desired Position page.

  10. Step 7

    Enter the details about your desired position and click "Continue" to preview your resume.

  11. Step 8

    Check over the preview and modify your resume if necessary.

  12. Step 9

    Click the yellow "Post Resume" button. This will successfully post your resume on CareerBuilder.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't have an existing resume, CareerBuilder will help you create one. Just click "Build your resume" instead of "Upload your resume," then enter the information requested.
  • CareerBuilder includes an option to hide the information about your current employer. Click the orange "Company Information" button at the bottom of the Post Resume page to see this option. There is also a choice to "Add Another Company," so you can list all your previous employers if desired.
  • False information in a resume may minimize your chances of finding a better job or tarnish your image with prospective employers if you're discovered.
