Travel to Your Destination

Arrive in Zambia on Zambian Airways, Air Zimbabwe, British Airways, Aeroflot, Ethiopian Airlines, South African Airways, Air Botswana, Kenya Airways or Air Zaire.

Drive to Zambia. Major routes include traveling from Harare in Zimbabwe to the border crossing at Chirundu or Kariba; arriving via Botswana, taking the ferry crossing at Kazungula; and coming from Bulawayo across the Victoria Falls Bridge.

Take a train to Victoria Falls from South Africa.
Step4
Get a ferry after ground travel to reach Livingstone from Victoria Falls and Lusaka, the Northern Province and the Copperbelt.
Go from Place to Place

Get a domestic flight on Airwaves Zambia, Migration Air or Airwaves Airlink.

Take a bus to Chipata, Lusaka, Livingstone, Ndola or Mongu.

Get on a train to travel from Livingstone to Lusaka, from Kapiri Mposhi to the North or from Luska to the Copperbelt.

Book simple accommodations in Ndola for moderate prices. Accommodations can sometimes be had here for somewhat less than $100 a night. Rates closer to $150 per night are common.

Stay near Lake Tanganyika at campsites and lodges.

Find a room at an elegant modern hotel close to Lusaka. Expect to pay $150 and above for your lodging.
Step5
Enjoy a close view of wildlife at a lodge with its own watering hole. Upscale accommodations at a resort should cost somewhere around $200 a night or more.
Seek Out Tourist Destinations and Attractions
Step1
Enjoy Lake Tanganyika. This very large fresh-water lake has spectacular views and a highly biodiverse fish population.

Go to the Niamkolo Church. It is the oldest surviving stone-built church in Zambia.

Head to Livingstone for museums and examples of old colonial architecture.

Drive through eastern Zambia for beautiful valley views.

Travel to Kalambo Falls, which are the second highest waterfalls in Africa.

Ride an elephant on a safari ride to view game.
