Decide on a size. Some cameras are bigger than others and can be easier to take photos with. Be sure whoever is using the camera most is comfortable with its size and their ability to take a good photo with it.

Consider possible accessories. Batteries and memory cards are a must have and will keep your camera running. Also a USB cable is necessary to hook up your camera the USB port in your computer.
