How to Determine Whether to Use Yahoo! PageBuilder or PageWizards

Yahoo! PageBuilder and PageWizards are free programs that will help you create and build a Web site. Both have unique features that make them very useful and user-friendly. However, there are times when one program is more appropriate to use. Review the steps below to help you decide which Web page program is best for your needs.

    Decide your purpose for building a Web page.

    Use PageWizards if you want an explicit, step-by-step instruction guide to choosing and personalizing a Web page, adding text and adding images to a Web page. It is limited in possible functions, but is very straightforward and presents a simplified, coherent guide for beginners who may not be comfortable with Web page building. Once you use PageWizards, you will have a better understanding of the process of building Web pages.

  3. Step 3

    Use PageBuilder if you do not need a step-by-step process and are looking for an extended offering of options when creating your Web page. PageBuilder is also a preferred program for building a Web site with multiple pages.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may want to use PageWizards for your first few attempts at building a Web page. Once you become proficient in this program, move on to PageBuilder to add more details to your Web pages.
  • Always check your Web site when you are creating or changing it using either of these programs. You want to be sure you have entered correct commands that result in your desired outcomes for the page.
  • In addition to adding text and images to your Web page, you can add background music and color, change the format of the page, and move objects around on your page with PageBuilder.
  • If you do create your Web pages using PageWizards and save it in PageBuilder, you will no longer be able to access those pages in PageWizards.
