How to Add an iTunes Podcast Subscribe Button to a TypePad Blog

Adding an iTunes subscribe button to your TypePad blog is a very handy way to get your listeners to automatically update your podcast onto their iPod. The process is fairly straightforward and requires just a few simple steps.

Instructions

1. Open your Typepad website editor.
2. Open the iTunes website and download and image of the iTunes logo.
   
3. Upload the iTunes logo to your Typepad blog editor.
4. Insert the following link into your Typepad blog with the image linked to it: . This simple code line will add your link into the document. Please note the itpc that precedes the location of your podcast. The itpc instead of http will cause iTunes to open and launch the link adding the podcast to the users iTunes.
5. Save the page.
6. Test the link to make sure that you have the correct link uploaded.

Tips & Warnings

• The following media formats are supported by iTunes: .m4a, .mp3, .mov, .mp4, .m4v and .pdf.
• Test your link to make sure that it functions by clicking on it and launching iTunes.
• It may take a few tries to get the format of the .xml correct. Keep working with it and trying it before submitting to iTunes.
• Always save a copy of your page prior to making a modification to your site.
• If something goes wrong, reload your site from the saved file.
