Get to Know Ibiza

1. Explore the various different regions of Ibiza. The island is divided into five municipalities. San Antonio is well known for its nightclubs and entertainment, while San Jose has some of the island's best beaches.

2. Speak Spanish or English. The official languages of the island are Catalan and Eivvisenc, but most people speak Castillian Spanish. You will find most residents also speak English or German.

3. Bring your swimsuit. Besides having some of the best clubs in the world, Ibiza has more than 50 gorgeous beaches to enjoy.

4. Sleep late; the real party begins late at night, and many clubs do not even open until after midnight.

Get to and Around Ibiza

1. Fly into Ibiza's small airport, which is about 7 kilometers from Ibiza Town. It's serviced by dozens of European airlines. Flights from many cities in Europe take about 2 hours.

2. Take a shuttle bus or a taxi from the airport to the city center. It is approximately a 20-minute drive depending on traffic.

3. Take the bus around the island to experience some of Ibiza's history and culture beyond the tourist areas.

2. Stay in a hostel in the port area of Ibiza Town for the full partying experience at relatively cheap rates. Although hostels in Ibiza Town are nowhere near as cheap as hostels in other parts of Spain and Europe, they do offer a variety of accommodations and a fun place to stay on the island.

3. Ask about pensions and apartment rentals. Both are common in the area. To get cheap rates, you may need to stay outside of Ibiza Town in one of the villages on the island.

4. Consider staying in a campsite for cheap accommodations in Ibiza. Catering mostly to backpackers and students, most campsites are only open in the summer but some stay open all year.

Tips & Warnings

• Be prepared to pay an admission fee for entrance into nightclubs. The largest and most popular nightclubs are not cheap, with entrance fees that could cost you more than 25 Euros per person.
