How to Find Hotels In Beaver Creek, California
Beaver Creek is a creek inside the Calaveras Big Trees State Park in California in the Sierra Nevadas near Yosemite. The "Big Trees" the park name refers to are the world-famous Giant Sequoia redwood trees. The nearest city to the park is Stockton, California, but you can find accommodations close by in the small town of Angels Camp.

Look at the trees. Big Trees State Park has two groves of Giant Sequoia redwoods. One of the things that makes these trees so impressive is their sheer girth; they have to be seen to be appreciated.

Dress in layers. Temperatures in the Beaver Creek area can go below zero and above 100 degrees and vary over the course of the day. Regardless of season, bring layers and rain gear.

Go whitewater rafting on the Stanislaus River (which runs through the park) for a fun day-trip activity.
Get To and Around Beaver Creek in the Calaveras Big Trees State Park

Take Highway 4 to get into the park. It takes about 35 minutes to drive into Big Trees from a hotel or motel in Angels Camp on Highway 4.

Check for road closures during the winter. The park is open year round, but the roadway that leads to the South Grove is closed during the winter.

Hike through the two groves. You will cross Beaver Creek by footbridge as you go by foot to the South Grove, where the largest trees are located.

Go cross-country skiing. Although road conditions in the park can be dicey during the winter, cross-country skiing is encouraged.
