Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Breath mints
  1. Step 1

Find somewhere to be alone. Crowded parties, dance floors and greasy restaurants are all terrible places for a romantic first kiss. Think up an excuse to be alone. Go for a walk, take a drive, get some fresh air.

  2. Step 2

Pay attention to body language. Is there contact? Is your heart pounding?

  3. Step 3

Wait for a good moment. Wait for a lull in the conversation, when your eyes meet and you both can't seem to look away. The moment will feel right.

  4. Step 4

Build up your contact and culminate it with a kiss. Let him or her anticipate it eagerly.

  5. Step 5

Lean in slowly. Give a kiss on the cheek gently and move toward the lips.

  6. Step 6

Take it easy. You got your kiss, don't push it. A kiss should not be rushed.

  7. Step 7

Smile and pull back. Keep eye contact and say good night, or rejoin the party.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be gentle. Be slow. The moment should seem like it's in slow motion.
  • Moving slowly is a good way to avoid an awkward rejection as well.
  • Have good breath. Avoid garlic, curry and onions at dinner and always, always have mints or gum in the car or in your pocket.
  • Don’t drool. Maybe it's okay when things get hot and heavy in the throes of passion but this is your first kiss. It should be nice.
