Step 1
Take inventory of what you already have. Go from room to room and make note of the household items that you and your fiancé currently possess. Then make a list of what you need.
-
Step 2
Consider again what you need. Even if you're not moving into a new place, your living situation will change. Make a list of household items you'll want in your new married home.
-
Step 3
Decide together what fun items you want. There’s nothing wrong with adding a flat-screen TV, a camping set, or his-and-her snowshoes to your registry list. You're sure to have friends or relatives who would enjoy buying you a nonessential wedding present.
-
Step 4
Grab your lists and head out to the better chain stores in your area. Ask the customer service desk to help create your bridal registry. They'll either give you a handheld device that you can click on items you want throughout the store or direct you to a touch-screen kiosk where you can make your choices.
-
Step 5
Browse the Internet for more stores. Many of the larger chain stores offer the option of creating gift registries online.
-
Step 6
Let everyone on your guest list know where you're registered.
