Step 1
Consider how much time you have to devote to your podcast: If your time is limited by other obligations, you may not be able to publish often. Remember that you will need time to write, record, edit and publish each podcast.
-
Step 2
Consider the length of your podcast: If your podcasts are typically under 30 minutes in length, you may want to publish more often than if your podcasts are 1 hour or longer.
-
Step 3
Consider the content you have available or are able to produce: If you can produce material for a half-hour show every week, then plan to publish that show once per week.
-
Step 4
Consider the topic of your podcast: If your purpose is to keep your subscribers on top of hot new tips as they become available, you don't want to wait until the end of the week when they'll have already found out about them elsewhere.
-
Step 5
Consider what your subscribers expect: Do they anticipate daily updates? Do other podcasters in your niche publish on a certain schedule that you should match? Ask your subscribers about their expectations if you do not know.
-
Step 6
Look at the time you have, your podcast itself and your audience and determine the most appropriate schedule.
