How to Download a Podcast to a PC

A podcast is a multimedia file distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds for playback on mobile devices and personal computers.

Instructions

1. Look for a podcast directory. These should be listed alphabetically or by genre.

2. Once you have located the podcast you wish to download, use the software you downloaded (if applicable) and save it to the media device of your choosing (Windows Media Player, Quicktime, iTunes, etc.).

3. When the download has finished, it will be located on your hard drive in the media device.

Tips & Warnings

• A faster Internet connection will dramatically reduce download time.
• Make sure your media device supports the downloaded file types.
• Read the user and license agreements.
• Be aware of any potential problems the software presents for your computer before downloading it.
• Do not give out any personal information unless you are on a secure connection and trust the site.
• Some files will play while they are downloading. These are streaming file types. Others will download, then play.
