Jobster is a little different from other job sites. In addition to showing numerous job postings matching the search criteria, Jobster includes company specific inside information given by people working there. Further, employment seekers can attach job-related keywords, referred to as superstar tags, with their names so employers can easily spot them in the given list of prospective candidates. Here’s how you can search for jobs using Jobster.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Basic Search

Step1
Go to the Jobster Web site.
Step2
The "Search" feature is given at the top of the page just below the company logo. The first field requires you to enter the desired title, keywords or preferred company name. Double-click in the field to view an alphabetical list of terms you earlier searched for on the Internet. Use this list to select an already used term or keyword.
Step3
Use the "City," "State" or "Zip" field to do a job specific search by entering the desired city name, its two letter state code or area zip code. This field is optional and should be left empty if you are open to working anywhere in the United States.
Step4
Click "Search Jobs" to view opportunities matching the search criteria.

Advanced Search

Step1
Scroll down the homepage to a section named "More Ways to Find Jobs," located to the right of the page. In this section, click "Advanced Search" to view detailed search options.
Step2
Specify detailed search parameters on the "Advanced Search Page." There are three main sections on this page: "Keywords/Search Terms" allows users to specify keywords in the given text boxes. In the "Location" section, job-seekers can select the desired state from the given list. In the following field, enter name of the preferred city. Finally, use the “With a Radius of” drop-down list to select a suitable distance within/from the opted city. The "Filters" section lets users use the jobs posted filter to view recent, old or all related postings. The next filter allows you to select only those jobs that contain the specified keywords in only the job title, description or both. Next, select an option to sort matching jobs.
Step3
Use the drop-down list to select the number of jobs posts you want to view on a result page.
Step4
Click "Search" to view opportunities matching the search criteria.

Directories

Step1
On the Jobster homepage, scroll down to a section named "More Ways to Find Jobs," located to the right of the page. In this section, the links "Company Directory," "Jobs Directory" and "Local Directory" take you to pages that list opportunities by companies, function, and states and cities.
Step2
Explore the options as desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • The "Advanced Job Search" page lists job searching tips. Refer to these tips before using the feature.
  • Use the "Jobster Trends" link in the "More Ways to Find Jobs Section" of the homepage to view the most popular keywords and locations.
  • Create job alerts by using the "Job Alerts" link in the "More Ways to Find Jobs Section" of the homepage. Job alerts give you the option of receiving email notification about new relevant leads.
