How to Play the Eldar in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War
Swift, cunning and deadly, the Eldar are a breed apart. Their highly specialized Aspect Warriors are excellent at a range of combat roles while their vehicles can pick the enemy apart in no time at all. Playing them may look easy, but playing them well is not so simple. Care to know how to lead your craftworld to victory?

1
Build Guardian squads! These soldiers are the pillar of your army, around which all else is built. They are initially available, can capture resource points, and have a large unit size. They have a decent ranged attack and decent armor, but are somewhat weak compared to Space Marines and Orks. Do not attempt to engage them in close combat unless you REALLY have to!
-
2
Move your buildings if you have to! Eldar structures can be teleported away from danger. Instead of building another base if you're in trouble, just teleport an existing stronghold away.
-
-
3
Hide your buildings if all else fails! Eldar buildings that are near a Soul Shrine may be cloaked and hidden from all but a very smart enemy's view. They can't operate while cloaked, but it will keep them out of trouble.
-
4
Use Howling Banshees to assault the enemy! These fearless warriors are your main close combat units. No other Eldar unit is as good at fighting hand to hand as the Banshees. Always have them at the front so they can engage enemy units quickly.
-
5
Have your Dark Reapers and Fire Dragons provide fire support. These units are meant to grind the enemy into dust with heat and missiles! Keep them well away from the enemy and use a Falcon transport to take them from place to place.
-
6
Use your Warp Spiders to support the Banshee assault. Warp Spiders are heavier and slower than Banshees, but are also designed with medium- to close-range combat in mind. As one might expect, they have a warp ability to get them into or out of a battle quickly.
-
7
Build Wraithlords to support your infantry. Wraithlords are excellent both at ranged and close support. They have powerful cannons and melee weapons, so use them wherever you need them.
-
8
Falcon grav tanks are good for a multitude of tasks. They are your only transport option, so use them to ferry units to and from the battle zone. They also have excellent weapons, so use them in conjunction with Fire Prism tanks to make a very effective attack!
-
9
Send in the Jester! If you have the Dark Crusade expansion, you will have access to the Harlequin. This character is an extremely powerful melee unit that is capable of some quite extraordinary feats. You can have up to three, so create them all and set them loose on the enemy commander.

Soul shrines don't cloak, web portals do; and buildings can operate whilst cloaked. Fire guardians are anti-vehicle and building, not fire support, and neither them nor dark reapers have missiles. Terrible guide.
