Drive to Evansville. The main highway to the city is Highway 41, which runs directly through Evansville. Interstate 64 is about 20 miles to the north of Evansville. You can take Interstate 164 to and from Interstate 64.

Expect a medium-sized city, with small-town friendliness. The population of Evansville and the surrounding areas of Indiana sits at around 300,000 people.

Head to the Shawnee Forest and visit the Garden of the Gods. You can check out the unique rock formations while hiking, biking or enjoying a picnic.

Hop on board at the Indiana Railway Museum. This museum celebrates the history of Indiana's railroad system. Visitors actually get to ride aboard vintage trains; one-hour trips cost less than $10.
