Tips & Warnings
Don't forget your sunblock. Waikiki is known as a tanner's paradise, but the sun can get very hot and it's easy to burn.
Stay for five days or longer. Many hotels and accommodations offer an extra night free with a minimum stay.
Call the hotel before you book a published rate because they might be offering a special deal or package. There is a lot of competition for your business in Hawaii, especially in the off-season.
Don't plan to take advantage of special deals during the holidays. Most hotels block out the week around Christmas-and raise their prices, to boot.
Waikiki gets almost totally booked up during the peak months (January and February) as vacationers try to escape the cold. If you are traveling during that time, be sure to get your accommodations lined up early.
