      Know what you want to buy

      Ask the price even if listed

    • 3

      Say that you cannot spend that much money

      Offer a little less than half the price

      If seller is not willing to match offer attempt to slowly walk away looking back

      When seller stops you and asks how much more you could pay, offer half price

      Seller will make offer with price lower than originally stated

      Offer one more time the same price as your second offer

      If seller agrees to sell at your price, purchase...if not walk away and attempt at another shop this bargaining procedure

  • Do not get offended that the seller chases you down to make another offer, this is part of the experience

  • Do not get nervous or anxious as this bargaining is not purely directed at foreigners but common in Turkish culture

  • Do not bargain at departments stores, only bazaars and small shops in tourist areas
