How to Create a Text Link in Wikipedia

Don't just read Wikipedia articles. Contribute to them! You can create a text link when you open a Wikipedia account. Follow these steps to create a text link.

Open an account in Wikipedia

1. Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page. You can also key in "Wikipedia" in search engines like Google or Yahoo.

2. Go to the top right corner of the page. Click on "Sign in/create account." Register yourself by providing a Username and Password. Once you've been added, your Username will appear in red on the top of the page.

3. Enter the name of the article you want to edit in the search box on the left-hand side. Click on "go" or press "enter."

4. Click on "edit this page" or "edit" on the side of each section.

5. Log in to your account and start creating links.

6. Insert the word you want to text link between a pair of two closed brackets [[ ]]. For example, if you want to create a link for the word "Pizza," it should use the following format: [[Pizza]].

7. See the text link by clicking on "preview" and save the page.
