You can create a new section for an article in Wikipedia by entering the edit page. This online encyclopedia allows the readers to create a new section in an existing article. For this, first you need to open an account in Wikipedia. Here is how to create a new section for an article in Wikipedia.

    Open an Account in Wikipedia

  1. Step 1

    Enter the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page in your internet browser to get to the Main Page of Wikipedia. You can also key in 'Wikipedia' in search engines Google or Yahoo.

  2. Step 2

    Go to the top right corner of the page. Click on ‘Create account’ and register by providing your username and a unique password. The account gets created immediately and the username you selected will display on top of the page.

    Enter the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page in your internet browser and enter the Main Page of Wikipedia.

  5. Step 2

    Write the name of the topic to which you want to add information in the search box.

  6. Step 3

    Click on ‘Go’ or press ‘Enter’. This will take you directly to the article that you want. Press on ‘Edit this page’ or ‘edit’ as visible on the side of each section. You will be directed to the ‘edit page.’

  7. Step 4

    Follow the format == Section headings ==. Here the section heading will be the name of the section. Immediately a section will be created automatically. For example,
    ==Wikipedia==
    Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia which allows users to edit the contents of an article.
    ==Wikipedia’s Manual of Style==

  8. Step 5

    Click on ‘Page preview’ once you have completed the editing and save.
