Open an Account in Wikipedia

1. Enter the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page in your internet browser to get to the Main Page of Wikipedia. You can also key in 'Wikipedia' in search engines Google or Yahoo.

2. Go to the top right corner of the page. Click on 'Create account' and register by providing your username and a unique password. The account gets created immediately and the username you selected will display on top of the page.

Create a Caption for an Image in a Wikipedia Article

1. Go to the edit tab/box of the article in which you need to show/insert the image.

2. Use the syntax [[Image:Image name|Frame|Caption]] and write the desired caption. For example, [[Image:Picture.jpeg|frame|This picture was shot in the courtyard of St. Xavier's Cathedral Church in Newyork]].

3. Enter 'frame' in the syntax so that the original size of the image is displayed.

4. Insert 'thumb' in the syntax to view the image in 180 pixels or as selected by the reader in their account preferences.

5. View the desired caption below the image.

6. Write the syntax to make links in captions [[Image: Image.jpg|right|frame|This picture was shot in the courtyard of [[St. Xavier's Cathedral Church]] in [[New York]]]]. Here the words St. Xavier's Cathedral Church and New York will be shown as links.
