How to Write Meta Tags for Flash

Anything in the Flash presentation will be viewed as only an image; it cannot be read by the search engines. So, write meta tags for your Web site well. Meta tags are written in syntax and are enclosed with angle brackets (< or >). Usually, there are three parts--meta (identifies it to the search engine), name (denotes what the engine is reading) and content (what the engine reads).

  1. Step 1

    Open your page in a text editor.

  2. Step 2

    Locate the header section of your Web page. This is easily done by locating the syntax . Then, locate the title tag, Page Title.

    Insert a carriage return following the tag.

  • Meta tags should always be one line, no matter how long they end up being (but no more than 150 words).
  • Your description meta tag should contain keywords. This is the description that searchers will likely see below your Web site name, so make it thorough.
