The Google Toolbar has several handy features that make searching and surfing the Internet faster and easier. These smarter searches allow you to explore different databases from within the toolbar itself, newsfeeds for up-to-the-minute information and offer a pop-up blocker for safe surfing. In addition, the toolbar has some extra features that allow you to share information with just a few clicks of the mouse. With the Google Toolbar installed, you can send information about Web sites you have found to a cell phone within a minute or two, making it easier than ever to share information with friends and family anywhere in the United States.

Step3
Click the Send To button on the toolbar and select the SMS option.
Step4
Enter information in the window provided—the cell phone number you are sending the message to, the cell phone carrier, a subject for the message (optional) and the text of the message. Click Send to send your message once you have entered all the information.

Tips & Warnings

  • To disable the Send To feature, click the Settings button on the toolbar, select Options and then the Features tab. Uncheck the box labeled Send To and then click OK to save your changes and exit the window.
  • This feature is currently available only for U.S. telephone numbers that are enabled for messaging.
  • The Firefox version of the Google Toolbar does not have a Send To feature and does not offer an alternative means by which to send Web links to cell phones.
  • There is no charge to send a message with this feature, however a cell phone carrier may charge a fee to receive messages.
  • Many carriers truncate messages longer than 160 characters. Ensure that your message is brief enough to transmit fully.
